SARAH: (enters in like a whirlwind. If you have a stage that has a door that she can slam when she enters that would be great. If not Sarah will just have to improvise by throwing her purse on the coffee table and abruptly sitting down in the chair – something that shows frustration and anger to the audience)  I can’t believe this! I’m so sick and tired of these jealous and incompetent people.

MOTHER PEARL: (glances at Sarah but keeps crocheting)

SARAH: I don’t know who they think they are.

MOTHER PEARL: (stops crocheting and reaches to turn the radio off) Sarah, did you have a bad day?

SARAH: Very funny. I have had it with the school system here. I’m relocating and going somewhere where my skills will be appreciated.

SARAH: (agitated) See, you always take the side of others. You are not even listening to me. You don’t even care how people treat me. You told me to stay at my last school too, even though the school refused to promote me and give me credit for lessons that I developed to bring our overall school test scores up.

MOTHER PEARL: I encouraged you to go through the trial and allow God to complete the work that He has begun in you.

MOTHER PEARL: Every trial Joseph went through was teaching him that the gift was not about him but ministry.
